Attention
Legal Professionals:
Are You Handing THOUSANDS
of Dollars Worth of Fees To Your Competitors?
Learn
How to Quickly and
Easily Add the Lucrative Area of
Tax Problem Resolution
to Your Practice!
Tax, bankruptcy and IRS training for attorneys. Lawyer
training seminars for assistance with tax, bankruptcy and
IRS related issues.
Dear Colleague:
Let me ask you if this sounds familiar...
A client comes to you for a
consultation and tells you he owes the IRS
$80,000 in unpaid payroll taxes, but little other debt,
from a failed business. The IRS has filed a levy on his paycheck...
Another example: After
October 17, 2005 (Bankruptcy Reform) a client has unfiled
tax returns for several years. Before Reform, you
would have filed Chapter 13, then filed the taxes and the
tax years over 3 years could have been discharged. No
longer. Bankruptcy Reform requires that the returns be
filed at least 2 years before the Bankruptcy to be
discharged.
Bankruptcy
won't solve this clients problems.
What
do you do about the taxes? Do you send him or her to
another attorney or an accountant? Or do you just tell
the client you simply can't help?
The biggest mistake most attorneys make is underestimating
the profitability of helping clients solve their tax problems.
The
second biggest mistake is believing that since they
don't
know Tax Law that they can't handle Tax Problem
Resolution. It is not necessary to be understand the
nuances of Tax Law to handle Tax Problem Resolution.
In many ways, it is similar to what you already do in your Bankruptcy practice!
Bankruptcy and Tax Problem Resolution go hand in hand.
We have found that there is a synergy to representing both
people with tax problems and those with debt problems.
Many times we have had clients come in thinking they
needed an Offer in Compromise, when what they really
needed was a Chapter 13 Bankruptcy. Other times clients
thought they needed a Bankruptcy, when what they needed
was an Offer in Compromise. Other clients have needed
both Bankruptcy and tax relief.
We used to offer only
an option for Bankruptcy. If that didn't solve their
tax problem we would refer them to an accountant.
No more! Now we keep those lucrative Offer in
Compromise and other Tax Resolution fees in house!
And so can you. We will walk you through every step
of educating you in how to represent clients with Tax
Problems and how to market your Tax Problem Resolution
practice.
We
have developed a program and written a step
by step guide to representing taxpayers before the
IRS.
We have also written a guide to marketing a Tax
Problem Resolution Law Practice.
We can share this with you and help you to add this lucrative
area to your practice. The program we have developed includes:

______________________________
In the past, our firm did not help clients with tax problems.
But that was before we learned how much money we were
leaving on the table every month!
Now,
after learning how to represent clients before the IRS
and state tax authorities, we help clients solve their
Tax problems ands add countless thousands to our bottom
line. Even more importantly, we can give good advice
to people with tax problems and really help them.
My name is Martin Martelle and I'm the owner of Martelle
Law Offices PA. For the last 5 years we have focused on
representing taxpayers in trouble with the Internal Revenue
Service and state taxing authorities. Before that, I was
a general practitioner with an emphasis on consumer and
small business Bankruptcy. I found that there was a perfect
fit between a consumer and small business Bankruptcy
practice and a Tax Problem Resolution practice.
Now, we are able to offer a complete range of services to
people with tax problems as well as those with debt problems.
Our services to those with tax problems include:
We
have prepared a comprehensive and detailed program to
help Attorneys learn to represent clients with Tax Problems.
Why
You Should Include Tax
Problem Resolution In Your Practice
A
Tax Resolution practice goes hand in hand with a Bankruptcy
practice. I can't tell you how many times someone
came in for Bankruptcy and what they really needed was
tax help or Bankruptcy and tax help.
Fact: In 1995, the American Bar Foundation said
the number of lawyers in the United States was around
896,000. More recently, they estimate the number at
around 1,000,000. That's one lawyer for every
300 people!
Fact: And with law schools graduating over 30,000
new lawyers every year, that alarming trend only seems
to be increasing.
The Bottom Line: Lawyers *Must* Have Multiple Streams
of Revenue In Order to THRIVE In Today's Competitive
Environment!
The fees for Tax Problem Resolution are lucrative.
And best of all, there is little competition.
In the case I mentioned above, for the client with
payroll tax problems, I charged $3,000 to handle
his Offer in Compromise. There is no reason not to represent
these needy clients. I can show you how...
Finally, Bankruptcy Reform is here! One
of the greatest impacts that it will have on debtors
with tax problems is that the huge loophole for unfiled
tax returns will be closed and no longer available.
Unfiled tax returns will equal no discharge in
Bankruptcy, even if the other criteria are met.
There are also many other changes to how we help clients
with tax issues.
After Bankruptcy Reform, most of those taxpayers with
unfiled tax returns will have tax liabilities that do
not qualify for Discharge in Bankruptcy. This
will create a huge opportunity for Attorneys to do
Offers in Compromise or other non Bankruptcy solutions
for those clients. Be prepared and know how to
handle tax matters.
OUR
PROGRAM
What You'll Get In This Powerful Program:
Our Manual "Representing
Individuals and Small Businesses with Tax Problems
A comprehensive how to manual which
explains in detail how to represent clients with Tax
Problems, including:
-
How
to handle an Offer in Compromise from beginning through
appeal. This detailed analysis will give you the ability
to confidently prepare, file and handle Offers in
Compromise. It includes the lessons I have learned
over the past 5 years doing OIC after OIC. This
experience is priceless.
-
How
to value your services to your client for representing
them in an Offer in Compromise.
-
Show
your clients how to come up with the money to pay
for an OIC that costs them $2500-$5000.
-
How
to generate income from other areas of representation
of clients with tax problems, such as:
-
Bankruptcy
Discharge of Taxes (I wonder how many Bankruptcy
Attorneys really understand tax discharge in Bankruptcy?)
We will help you learn the nuances of Tax Discharge in
Bankruptcy!
-
Levy
Releases Many of my clients come to me with
levies on their paycheck. I used to advise them to
file Bankruptcy to get the levy lifted. Now, I understand
how to get a levy released and frequently do so for
my clients, and get paid well for it, without filing
Bankruptcy.
-
Penalty
Abatements Penalties are often a large part of
a clients tax liability. We will show you how to assist
your clients who have reasonable cause to get penalties
abated.
-
Non
Collectible Status Many times taxpayers just don't
have the ability to pay their taxes, yet don't qualify
for other relief (perhaps they are waiting for the
time period to run until they can file Bankruptcy). Obtaining
Non Collectible Status means that the IRS won't seek
recovery from the client, but will defer collections.
-
Installment
Agreements If there is no other relief readily
available, an Installment Agreement will avoid forced
collection.
-
IRS
Transcripts How to obtain, decipher and
use IRS transcripts to understand your clients tax
liability and to determine which taxes are subject
to being discharged in Bankruptcy.
A Complete Section in
our manual about: "Management
and Marketing of a Tax Problem Resolution and Bankruptcy
Practice."
It used to be that merely relying on word of mouth and
referrals was how a law firm obtained business. Then
came yellow page advertising and following that a flood
of other types of advertising, including television,
radio, billboards and direct mail. Over the last 5 years,
we have developed a very cost effective marketing strategy
which has produced many clients for us. We have
focused on techniques which are very cost effective
and which have proven to work.
We share those techniques in our manual. Some of the highlights of our marketing
plan include:
-
How
to use direct mail to target people with Tax Problems.
-
How
to become the "Go To Expert" on Tax Problem
Resolution in your area.
-
How
to get referrals from fellow attorneys and how to market
to Certified Public Accountants
-
How
to effectively use the Yellow Pages
-
How to set up
a website that is an effective marketing tool.
-
More
importantly, how to get your website looked at by
people with Tax and Debt Problems.
-
Which
groups of business people are the best to
market
to.
-
This
manual also includes all of the forms, flyers,
advertisements and letters our office uses in
marketing our Bankruptcy and Tax practice.
